This year we’re gathering to celebrate Easter Sunday across two services, each marking the resurrection of Jesus with joy, hope, and a shared act of worship: the flowering of the cross.
Our 9am service will be a traditional Eucharist held at St Andrew's Church.
Our 10:30am service will be a family-focused gathering at Sumner School Hall.
The flowering of the cross is a simple but powerful Easter tradition. A bare wooden cross, symbolising the death of Jesus, is gradually covered in flowers by the congregation. What begins as a symbol of suffering is transformed into something full of life and beauty, reflecting the resurrection: that death does not have the final word.
As we gather, we will hear the Easter story, pray, sing, and take part in this shared act of transformation together.
Whether you come to the quiet reverence of the 9am or the energy of the 10:30am, both services hold the same central truth: Christ is risen.
Please note there will be no 7pm service on Easter Sunday.
All are welcome to join us as we celebrate the hope at the heart of the Christian faith.
